Beer Poking Featuring: Winter Frolic Doppelbock
February 7 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Join us on the patio at Castle Danger Brewery for a classic cold-weather tradition—Beer Poking (aka bierstacheln)—as part of Two Harbors Winter Frolic!
From 2–4 PM, we’ll be poking our Winter Frolic Doppelbock on the patio, with heaters going to keep things cozy. Hot cocoa will also be available for purchase for those looking to warm up without a beer in hand.
What is beer poking?
Beer poking is a traditional German technique where a red-hot metal poker is briefly plunged into a cold beer. The heat caramelizes malt sugars on contact, creating a light foam and unlocking rich flavors like toasted caramel, toffee, and subtle sweetness—while gently warming the beer. It’s part spectacle, part science, and 100% winter-appropriate.
