Live Music: Mid Dream
Keeping the grove going at the 15th Anniversary is Mid Dream!
Mid Dream is a six-piece band from Duluth, MN. With vocalists Jenna Colaizy and Lisa Wentworth up front, Mid Dream cranks out synthy pop-punk, cathartic ballads, and smoky-bar soul. With Rachel Riefenberg on drums, Matt Prois on bass, Alex Nelson on keys, and Bryan Wentworth toeing the line between lead guitar and synthscape, their tunes are filled with compelling textures and gigantic harmonies. All six members bring their varied musical backgrounds to Mid Dream’s songwriting, with a result that’s difficult to pinpoint but songs that seem to have something for everyone.
Mid Dream started rehearsing in 2024, although most of them had played together in some capacity before. Jenna and Rachel were members of The Latelys, and the rest of the band are members of Emily Haavik and The 35s. They played their first shows in early 2025, quickly establishing a devoted fanbase.
Earlier this year, Mid Dream was in the recording studio, starting work on their debut full-length album, “Bodega Wine Glass.” Keep your eyes peeled! They were also honored to perform at Bayfront Festival Park, in Duluth, for the Grandma’s Marathon 50th Anniversary Celebration; vocalist Lisa having just run the full marathon! They look forward to more outdoor performances this summer.
