Castle Danger got its name from the dangerous reef that runs between two sets of cliffs, ending at Gooseberry River. Before Highway 61 came in the 1920’s, all traffic was by boat. Ship captains would know to stay well back from the shore between the two cliffs, or “castles,” because of the dangerous reef. As our brewery was originally located in Castle Danger, it was fitting to name the brewery after something so close to us.

We do not have a kitchen or serve full meals. However, we offer popcorn, pretzels, and other tasty snacks for purchase. We regularly host food trucks. Be sure to check out our Food Truck Schedule to see who’s onsite during your visit. You’re also welcome to bring in takeout from local Two Harbors restaurants (many offer delivery to the taproom) or bring your own food from home.

Yes! We welcome families and pets. Pets are only allowed on our patio. All kids under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Interested in purchasing a keg of our dangerously good ales? We cannot legally sell directly from the brewery. The easiest way is to contact your local liquor store in Minnesota that sells Castle Danger beer and order a keg through them.

We have a handy Beer Finder right here on our website. You can search by location or by brand to see which establishment near you carries our beer or a specific brand you’re looking for.

Our main focus is selling beer in our home state of Minnesota. However, we have started to distribute to select border territories such as Fargo, ND and northwestern Wisconsin.
We do not host weddings at this time.

We do not! However, we offer reservations of our Large Lake Table or our Side Deck for small, laid-back gatherings on the North Shore. Learn More!

Our beer is not gluten free. Nutritional facts are also not available for our beer, but we applaud you for being concerned about it.
[faq q="What does the date printed on the bottom of your cans signify?"]The date listed on the bottom of our cans and on the outside of our cartons is the packaged date. It is NOT the expiration date. Our beers range between 90-120 days of shelf stability.
